Peter did a beautiful job restoring my Rhodes and has always been easily reachable when I've had questions. He even coached me through replacing a snapped tine hours before a show. Electronic Edge isn't just a service, it's a resource. |

I'm lucky that Peter is only a relatively short distance from my home in Ohio. Finding someone to service my Rhodes, especially with competence and expertise, isn't a little thing. It makes my funky antique a great addition to my keyboard 'arsenal'. I wanted a 'stretch' tuning, voicing, and maintenance. Peter provided all three in spades! |

I recently purchased a 1977 Rhodes 88 Stage Piano from the original owner and decided I wanted it completely restored. After doing much research I decided Peter was the guy I was going to entrust this project to. I drove the 500 miles in person to hand deliver the Rhodes and to pick it up when Peter was done. All I can say is "Wow!!" What an absolute beautiful job! Peter took my 35 year old piano and transformed it into a work of art. Gave it a thorough cleaning after disassembly, the "key pedestal modification", set up, tuning, new tolex and hardware, etc. Fantastic! He answered all my questions and concerns with professionalism, provided friendly service and treated me great! I can't say enough what a great job he did! I highly recommend Peter @ Electronic Edge if you need vintage keyboard work done. Thank you Peter Hayes!! |

It would never occur to me to have anyone but Peter Hayes work on my instruments. He did a beautiful job on my Stage 88. I had the pleasure of visiting his shop and I was impressed with the work he's done for others. Rhodes, Wurlies, Clavinets and more -- all looking good, sounding great and smooth as butter.
He's fast, reasonably priced and friendly. He answers questions and provides good information on follow up care and maintenance. I have two more Rhodes, Stage 73s, and he'll be the only guy who touches them.
Check him out.

I bought a Rhodes stage 73 from Peter Hayes -- the "Rat Fur" custom featured on the website. It looks cool, doesn't it? And it sounds and plays as nice as it looks. The Rhodes piano is a great instrument, expressive and soulful, and it's a shame they aren't made any more. Getting a rebuilt Rhodes from Peter is the closest thing you'll get to buying a new one off the showroom floor. By the way, I had mine shipped across the country and it arrived in perfect shape -- Peter takes good care of his instruments and his customers. |

Peter is the guru of the Rhodes techs...he is extremely knowledgeable of any aspect of Rhodes repair, be it voicing, regulation, or even recovering in any color of Tolex. He is extremely passionate about the instrument, and will take any time necessary to discuss what the customer wants out of his Rhodes. My Mk2 Suitcase 73 is now a mint jewel, thanks to Peter. Highly recommended !! |

I live in Italy and I know Peter only by email!! I bought via internet a refurbished 1974 73 Stage Piano that Peter made sound and look great. During his work Peter sent me pictures showing what he was doing to the piano so I could follow the work in progress. Shipping was ok, with no problems and no "surprises".
What about the cost? I think I payed for it the right price: now I own a "brand new" Rhodes.
Great job, Peter!

It's easy to tell that restoring classic equipment is Peter's true passion. He is an expert with Fender Rhodes who cares greatly about customer satisfaction. Not only did he fix the problems that I told him to fix, but he cleaned the Rhodes out and fixed some other minor problems at no extra cost. Peter also offered to show me how to do some of the repairs myself so I wouldn't have to spend money on fixing it again!...A true professional who cares more about the customer than anything. THANK YOU. |

Peter is the best!
I found him through my online research and I can say that all of the positive reviews were accurate. We drove 3 hours, one way, to have Peter evaluate our Stage 73. He took the time to carefully look things over and we agreed that we would bring our Rhodes back as close to original as possible.
After evaluation, he called to explain all that was needed. New grommets, a pick-up,, cosmetic pieces, a tolex touch up, intonation and action work. He also suggested reversing some very strange wiring, . What was the previous owner thinking and why did they allow a mouse to take up residence inside? Looks like we needed some new felt as well.
This was a project indeed, but I believe we have a responsibility to keep older instruments alive and we agreed to move forward.
Now that the work is done, it's great. I had no idea how much better it could be, but now I know. Peter is a gentleman, an honorable businessman and a craftsman. If your Rhodes needs work, look no further. |

I am a shameless music snob. I contend that the keyboards produced in the 60s & 70s are the best sounding rigs built to date. When it comes to restoring these fine instruments, Peter Hayes is without peer. The man is a surgeon! Peter has restored for me: (2) 73 key suitcases, an 88 key suitcase, a 73 key stage, a sweet '67 Piano Bass, 2 pairs of Fender Rhodes Satellites, and 3 Hohner D6 Clavinets!!! Send your ailing Fender Rhodes to Peter and receive a work of art, a Beautiful tone machine in return. Peter will insure the survival and prosperity of these precious instruments.

Peter Hayes's work, service and attention to detail is second to none. He recently completed a red stage MK II for me, almost similar to what's in his website but with added pre amp and some killer knobs-packed, shipped and received immaculately. Please note that I only know Peter via emails. Worldwide service? You bet! I'm all the way from MALAYSIA. Peter is a class act! |

I took my Rhodes 88 to 2 other repair shops before hearing about Peter. I was not satisfied with the work that they did.
Peter did an amazing job getting all the notes to ring properly and tuning the keyboard.
I am VERY happy with the work the Peter did on my Rhodes.
He also went the extra mile to help me fix my pedal.
I recommend him highly.

I had 3 Rhodes (2 stage and 1 suitcase) in total repaired by Peter Hayes at ElecEdge. They were all in pretty bad shape to start - needing tines, grommets, electronics, and cosmetic work done. The cosmetic work looks great - as if it were brand new. The sound is also great. Both Rhodes stage pianos had slight buzzes before being repaired but are now crystal clear. I've been able to record both and have gotten great results.
Peter was easy to deal with and very responsive. I highly recommend ElecEdge. |

He was straightforward, helpful and kept me well informed. The piano I received had a minor issue that was quickly resolved with Peter's responsive help. The piano he worked on for me now looks and sounds great, and I know I can always go to him for questions and assistance. |

By far the best technician since "The Mysterious Buz Watson" to ever grace this 1972 Stage Fender Rhodes. Its a pleasure to know your instrument is not only in good hands but seasoned as well. This guy knows exactly what he is doing from restoration all the way to modification. No matter what part of the states I'm in, my keyboard will always make the trip to Yellow Springs for any future repairs or modifications...A Special Thanks again to Peter the "Mad Scientist" of Keys! |

Peter did a great job restoring my Rhodes Mark 1 Eighty-Eight! He was always accessible to answer any questions I had, and constantly sent me updates and photos of the "in-process" work. He was even able to track down a set of brand new legs, as my original Rhodes did not have any legs with it. It sounds better than ever and is an absolute joy to play. I highly recommend Peter and the skillful work he provides. |

I had purchased a 73 Rhodes 88 stage piano site unseen and was happy with the condition. After a year or two I wanted to restore the sound and tune back to spec. I researched via internet to find the best tech out there and only one name came up, That was Peter. I drove the piano from Detroit to Peters shop and was impressed upon the first meeting. He immediately starting reviewing and inspecting. He informed me of the pluses and minus with my unit and instructed me on what we can do and needed to do. He explained the process and the expected results. He was a joy to talk with and showed nothing but professionalism along the way. Peter Kept me informed thru the 2 week process with updates and status. Upon pickup my piano sounded like it just came off the production line...
It was perfect and again we went thru the process of what was completed.
I am thoroughly impressed with the service and work and would highly recommend Peter
we continue to stay in touch as I search for Clavinet to add to my stable...
He as offered to help thru the process and cant thank him enough

Peter did such a fantastic job with my 88 rhodes suitcase. Time was not friendly to my piano and it needed some amp work. Both the speaker cabinet and piano turned out looking clean and brand new. The amp was restored and sounds great. The piano is impeccable. The tone and the tuning is spot on. I had lots of variation in the action of the keys which are all now leveled and each note plays equal in sound.
Again I can't thank Peter enough for taking his time doing this and keeping these vintage machines going for years more. I would highly recommend to anyone. |
