the greatest rhodes album ever made - chick is a god, and i would happily have his babies and devote myself to his happiness day and night for the wonders that he has unleashed on this album. 'spain' and 'light as a feather' contain quite simply the most sublime rhodes you will ever hear, especially when chick wah-wah's it up. chick, you are the man. |

I just bought this record yesterday... This is a wonderful album.. and maybe Chick best realisation! The slight rhodes distortion on 'light as a feather' is great and add still more feeling to the sound.
And what about spain, whith the added wha wha... marvellous!
If you are a rhodes' fan, you absolutely need to have this record.

As a musical whole , I dont really like it , the singing is to out of tune at times and a bit sentimental , while at the same time Corea likes to over-overdrive his Rhodes at strange moments ,in a weird contrast to this singing.
But the Rhodes-tone is obviously well done and without bell , although I have heard warmer overdriven Fender amps , but thats my taste.
What the wah ? |

The second of two albums during RTF's first phase where Chick Corea plays nothing but Rhodes piano. I love the slightly distorted sound he gets out of it plus a little wah-wah action. |
