The Prince and I agree that this is the finest record that's ever been recorded. Although Mitchell received some very unfriendly reviews back in 1975 - no wonder with a record that don't fit into ANY known musical category! - this album has passed the test of time summa cum laude. Joni Mitchell, who's an excellent painter too, always viewed her music like it was done on a canvas. And here especially the Rhodes (played by Joe Sample and Victor Feldman) strongly contributes to an overall acoustic imagery that can not be compared to any other music but to a watercolor painting - full of air, athmospheres, pure magic. And in 2002, after 27 years, her record company finally decided to re-release this aural sculpture in a now properly remastered quality. Buying higly recommended! |
