Recorded at the Whiskey A Go-Go, 1974. (2 record set)
/Brian Auger-organ, electric piano, backing vocals
/Alex Ligertwood-lead vocal, percussion
/Barry Dean-bass
/Jack Mills-lead guitar
/Stephen Ferrone-drums.
The Live Oblivion recordings really showcase Auger's energetic style and consumate skill on both the organ and electric piano; he moved seamlessly between the two, and everything he played just felt right. Auger gives the Rhodes a good workout on "Happiness Is Just Around The Bend", "Inner City Blues", and "Straight Ahead". I seem to remember reading in Contemporary Keyboard that he preferred the older Fender Rhodes with the teardrop (traditional piano) hammers. |
