Ooooops - what a nice surprise to find this album here. It's the most fascinating live record ever cut, features some of the greatest electric piano playing ever done, but: sorry, no Rhodes, Donny uses a Wurlitzer. Sounds great anyway, not so delicate and chimey but very forceful. But what makes this recoding a KILLER, besides its stronggoing groove, is the communication between artist and audience. And when Hathaway slides into his wonderful rendition of "You've Got a Friend", the crowd knows that he's serious about that. |
