This album has a seriously plastic 80's sound to it, thanks to Chick's MIDI Mark V and the advent of Yamaha's line of FM synthesizers (my favorite part of the CD is the picture of Chick on the back with his "strap on" KX5...). I think the later Elektric Band albums had more musical substance to them, but this one is just fun. |

People make fun of this record nowadays, but you have to remember - Chick was yet again re-inventing himself with a new sound. And it has two "80's Chick" classics, King Cockroach and Got A Match. |
